The Iowa Mennonite boys soccer team pulled away from Wapello Monday evening in Kalona for a 7-1 Southeast Iowa Superconference victory.
Cole Ours opened the scoring for IMS, finding the back of the net in the fourth minute. Wapello was quick with an answer in the eighth minute the Indians tied the game at one. From there it was all Iowa Mennonite. Seth Danga and Isaiah Swantz both scored for IMS on assists from Ours giving IMS a 3-1 lead going to the break. IMS kept control as Danga scored his second goal of the night in the 44th minute to increase the advantage to 4-1. Danga completed his hat trick with a 71st minute goal. Cole Ours also added a second tally late and Jacob Boller got on the board in the waning moments of the contest. IMS is now 5-2 on the year, 4-1 in the Superconference, they will next be in action at Central Lee Thursday.
