The Washington boys’ golf team seeks a year’s worth of bragging rights as they compete for the Southeast Conference title today in Mount Pleasant.
The Demons and Panthers have gone neck and neck all season and expect nothing different from the two conference favorites today. Separated by just four strokes in team average, the meet shapes up to be another classic shootout for the area schools in a battle for the last laugh. Of the 10 best golfers in the conference, the Demons and Panthers contain eight. The Demons’ Jacob Van Osdol has vaulted himself to the top of the league with a 38.4 nine-hole average, just ahead of Mount Pleasant’s Jeff Cox with a 38.8. Dalton Myers has been a consistent force for Washington as his 39.57 average is good enough for fourth in the league. Other Demons that can grab a conference title are Brock Sobaski with a 40.8 average and Mason Rich has a 42.7.
Tee time is set for 9 a.m. this morning at Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club.
