The Winfield-Mt. Union girls golf team posted the best finish of any area school Monday at the Southeast Iowa Superconference girls golf championships at the Sheaffer Golf Course in Fort Madison.

The Wolves finished in second place with a team score of 401. New London won the meet with a 380. Sophie Kongable was individual conference runner up with her 18 hole round of 88. Other scores for WMU included Lexee Hartsock with 97, Lauren Jamison at 107, Haley Rodgers with a 109, Lauren Hagge at 113 and Sabrina Moody fired a 148.

Columbus was eighth of 10 teams with a score of 506. The Wildcats were led by Aubrey Duncan with a 105. Other scores for Columbus included Kayla Beenen 113, Gracie Morrison at 131 and Martha Garcia with a 157.

Lone Tree was 10th of 10 teams with a score of 545. Lizzie Edens led the Lady Lions with a 125. Other scores for Lone Tree included Abby Buckman at 135, Molly Milder with 137 and Shelby Jones at a 148.

Iowa Mennonite School did not have enough golfers to post a team score. They were led by Greta Rempel with a 111 and Lara Kliewer with a 125.
