Tip of the cap. That is about all you can do to appreciate the talent of Sarah Nacos on the golf course as she captured her third state title on Wednesday. The rest of the team had a productive outing as well as the Demons placed third overall in the team competition.

To say Nacos ran away with the championship would be an understatement, posting an overall score of 154, a mind-blowing 23 strokes better than any other participant. After shooting a 78 round one score, the junior had an encore performance in day two by shooting a 76 to dash any competitors’ hopes of dethroning the champ.

Washington took third place overall as a team by shooting a combined 767 strokes. Humboldt took home the crown by posting a score of 736. Others scoring for the Demons were Megan Strabala placing 14th with 188, Allison Vogel in 30th with 207, and Carly Burlingame was 38th with 221. Scratch scores from the completion included Emily Waite at 40th with 222 and Kaitlyn Mitchell was 50th shooting a 280.

Expect the dynasty of Washington golf to go nowhere as Nacos and the entire lineup will return for the 2018 season.
