The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team has had the opportunity to play at some exciting new venues this season.

Tonight is another one of those chances when they will take the diamond at Duane Banks Field, on the campus of the University of Iowa. Mid-Prairie will be opposed tonight by the Bellevue Comets from the north division of the River Valley Conference. Mid-Prairie comes into the matchup with an overall record of 9-8. In their last action they fell to the Washington Demons Tuesday 8-1 in Wellman. On the year the Hawks are led by Collin Gingerich at the plate and his .417 average. On the mound Brad Tornow has a 3-1 record with a 1.88 ERA to lead the staff.

Bellevue enters tonight with an overall record of 4-11. In their last action they were swept by the Lisbon Lions in tournament play Saturday. The Comets are led on the year by Brandon Kafer and his .344 average. On the mound Cade Dougherty has worked 27 innings with a 1-4 record and 4.99 ERA.

These two teams met a year ago with Bellevue taking a 2-0 win.
