A personnel change request hiring an Emergency Management Coordinator for Washington County is on the agenda for Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting.

The position has been accepted by Marissa Reisen and the supervisors will formally acknowledge the hire. A hiring committee made the recommendation to the emergency management commission, which was approved. Reisen has a Master’s Degree in emergency management and has worked as an emergency and security coordinator at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, a nursing assistant at the University of Iowa, and a food and occupational health specialist. She will begin the job in July. In December, Washington County chose to discontinue a sharing agreement with Keokuk County for the role of emergency management coordinator and seek a single coordinator for Washington County. The supervisors meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
