The Lone Tree and Columbus Community baseball and softball teams compete tonight in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference matchup.
For the boys, Lone Tree (10-7) finds themselves in the middle of the conference standings with a few weeks left in the season. Avery Knock has looked impressive for the Lions as he carries a .514 BA and 11 RBI on the season. Columbus (1-13) will look for their second conference victory, as Abel Mena will lead the charge with a .333 BA and eight runs scored.
For the girls, the Lions (2-11) are winners of two of the last three games. Chloe Jacque continues to lead the offense with an impressive .487 BA on 11 runs scored. Abby Buckman leads in the circle with a 5.19 ERA in 60 innings pitched. The Wildcats (0-19) will search for their first win tonight. Aubrey Duncan leads Columbus offensively with a .207 BA with five runs scored.
Both games get started at 5:30 p.m. tonight at Columbus Community High School.
