The new superintendent and part-time high school principal for the Keota School District will be starting July 3.

Jim Henrich was hired by Keota on June 15 for this combined position. Henrich has worked in education for 29 years, 15 of them as a principal, most recently at Southeast Valley High School in Gowrie. Henrich looks forward to what Keota will bring, “So I think the size of Keota allows you to build those relationships with the public and the parents and the staff and the students. That I think makes the district more effective. So that would be one of my first goals is to start building those relationships, that’s the basis of education.”

Henrich says he attended this year’s Keota Fun Days parade and he plans to attend some Keota baseball and softball games this summer. Henrich aspires to give clear communication between the district and the community. While Henrich has had a superintendent certificate for five years, this is his first time in the role and he looks forward to this next phase in his career.
