Two Mount Pleasant organizations are receiving grants from the Iowa Arts Council.

Midwest Old Threshers received a $15,000 grant, and the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra received a $10,000 grant. Both grants are going towards the operating expenses of each organization. The Iowa Arts Council awarded 152 grants total for the 2018 fiscal year, to support arts and organizations that are raising the quality of life in Iowa communities and making them more culturally vibrant, attractive places to live.
