Ten bucks turned into $100,000 for a Keota man after winning on a scratch-off lottery game.
According to the Iowa Lottery, 55-year-old Kris Brown claimed his winnings at the regional office in Cedar Rapids. Brown has been saving money to build a new house and plans to use the $100-grand to move those plans into action. The Keota man stopped at a store in Washington to buy a ticket for his favorite scratch game, but the store was out so he tried a different one, which turned out to be to his benefit. Brown says he double-checked the ticket, scanned it on a self-checker machine, and had a store employee check it, before he started to celebrate.
