August precipitation and temperatures were below normal in Washington.
According to the National Weather Service, this August Washington received 3.38 inches of rain, below the normal mark of 4.04 inches. The lowest amount of precipitation for August in Washington was less than two-tenths of an inch in 2013. Temperatures have also been lower than normal at 68.4 degrees, while 72.5 is the normal average temperature. The lowest average temperature for August was in 2004 at 67 degrees.
So far this year precipitation is four inches below the normal 25.8 inches and temperatures are about 1.5 degrees above normal at 53.3 degrees. Mostly sunny skies are expected this Labor Day weekend, listen to KCII for weather updates.
