Columbus Community and Lone Tree met up on the volleyball court on Tuesday and the Wildcats came out victorious in three sets.
The Wildcats were trying to snap a three game losing streak and they wasted no time winning 25-19, 25-16, and 25-12. Senior Maki Mendenhall was not going to be denied as she tallied a team-high 11 kills and was successful on 14 of her 15 serve attempts with a pair of aces. Anna Hamilton added 18 digs defensively and Emma Milder had 16. Courtney Zaehringer accounted for 17 assists.
With the win the Wildcats improve to 3-9 as the Lions drop to 1-13. Columbus Community will get back on the court Saturday traveling to Keokuk and Lone Tree will battle Highland on Thursday.
