Kalona Volunteer Fire Department responded to a storage shed fire in Johnson County Thursday morning.

The fire was reported at Buchmayer Plumbing on Highway 1 at 10:30 a.m. Kalona Fire Chief Steve Yotty says it took crews about three hours to extinguish the fire, and the shed was a total loss. Nobody was in the building at the time of the fire, and no injuries are reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Tiffin, Oxford, and Hills Fire Departments, as well as Kalona First Responders, Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, and Johnson County Ambulance assisted at the scene.
