The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team finished the 2017 season with a 5-23 overall record.
The Golden Hawks were 0-10 during the regular season of the River Valley Conference schedule. Mid-Prairie’s best stretch of the season came at the beginning of the year when they won three of four matches at the Keota tournament. The Golden Hawks also posted wins over the rival Washington Demons and score an RVC win during the conference tournament over Northeast Goose Lake two sets to one.
On the season, the Mid-Prairie was at the bottom of the RVC with 324 kills, and 101 aces. The Hawks were 13th in the conference with 313 assists. The Golden Hawk defense was ninth in the league with 1,239 digs and at 17 digs per set they were fourth in the conference.
Individually, Mid-Prairie was led by Maya Hall with 84 kills. Caitlyn Riggan led the way with 261 assists. Alison Yoder had a team best 373 digs, 10th most in the RVC.
Hall was named honorable mention All-River Valley Conference. She was also an Academic All-State Selection.
The Golden Hawks lose Hall, Yoder and Anna Vilovchik to graduation.
