Special Christmas trees will be on display in Washington’s Central Park this holiday season.
Main Street Washington Director Sarah Grunewaldt explains the Lights of Love Memorial Trees, “We have cut Christmas trees that are going to be displayed in the park in memory of, or in honor of, a loved one or a staff person who has either passed away or you just want to honor, you know if someone has a great accomplishment and you want to honor them.” There are 30 trees total, and less than a dozen are left. Each tree costs $100 and will be decorated with lights, a red bow, and a sign that states who the tree is standing for and who donated it.
To sponsor a tree in honor of someone from your family or business, contact Main Street Washington. The trees will be part of the city’s lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Saturday, November 25th.
