The Iowa Mennonite Boys basketball team will face off with the Benton Bobcats in a scrimmage today.
The IMS boys are 6-1 at the intermission of the season after a 71-55 win over Highland to close out the first part of the year. Cole Ours has the team lead at 17 points per game third best in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. Caleb Gingerich is best on the team and second in the Superconference with 44 assists. Mitchell Schmeider has pulled down a team high 65 rebounds, fifth in the conference.
Benton enters today at 5-2 on the year. The Bobcats beat Williamsburg in their final game of 2017 75-70. Spencer Touro leads the Bobcats and is second in the WAMAC Conference scoring 21 points per game. Nathan Michaels is best on the team and second in the WAMAC with 30 assists. Michaels also has the team lead with 34 rebounds.
IMS opens the second half of the season Tuesday when they host Pekin.
