As February comes to a close, so does the half-priced adoption promotion at PAWS and More in Washington.
Throughout the month the shelter has had discounted adoption rates for the cats at the shelter. Director of PAWS and More Amber Talbot said in 2017 they had their highest intake of animals on record, “I’m not really sure why, you know, every year it fluctuates. I’m never quite sure, we can’t pinpoint what that factor is, the only thing I can think of is there was a pretty mild winter last year. And that really does effect the animals that are at large and running around, and feeling like they don’t want to stay at their homes, or being abandoned.” Last year, the shelter received 813 animals. Over 20 cats have been adopted from the shelter in February.
