A semi caught fire near Riverside Tuesday afternoon and about 10 minutes later a second semi hit a vehicle near that fire and one vehicle rolled into the ditch.
According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 4:35 p.m. a semi hauling sheet rock caught fire on the southbound side of Highway 218 near the Highway 22 exit north of Riverside. The bottom of the trailer caught fire. Riverside Fire Department extinguished the fire. At 4:46 p.m. a semi hit a vehicle near that fire, and an ambulance was requested as a vehicle had rolled into the ditch. One person went to the hospital by private vehicle. Names of those involved have not been released.
