The waiting game is over for the Wapello boys’ basketball team as the Iowa High School Athletic Association released the brackets for the state tournament next week and the No. 8 seeded Indians will face No. 1 seed Treynor in the quarterfinals.
The two schools represent the first matchup for class 2A that is set for 4:30 p.m. on Monday evening. Wapello (23-1) qualified for state after a 55-46 win over Northeast Goose Lake on Saturday in the substate final. The Cardinals (24-0) kept an unblemished record with an 81-50 win over Woodward-Granger.
