The Iowa Mennonite School boys soccer season gets underway Tuesday when they host Holy Trinity Catholic.

IMS was originally scheduled to open the season last week against Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union but the match was cancelled due to inclimate weather. IMS is coming off of a terrific year that saw them finish with a 13-4 overall record and Southeast Iowa Superconference Tournament Championship. Iowa Mennonite is loaded with firepower this year, returning their top five scorers from last season that combined for 51 goals, led by Cole Ours with 19. Ours was also the team leader last season with 12 assists. Blake Bontrager is back in goal to lead the IMS defense, finishing last year with 76 saves.

Holy Trinity Catholic was 8-10 a season ago. They return their second leading scorer from last season in Adam Rauenbuehler with nine goals. The Crusaders will have to replace Bailey Merschman in goal, who ended last year with 120 saves.

These two teams met last April with IMS scoring a 4-1 win. Action begins tonight at 5p.m. at Iowa Mennonite School.
