Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood, according to the Red Cross. The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is teaming up with the Lions Club to host a blood drive this week in Washington. The Washington community is invited to donate blood Thursday between 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. One blood donation is approximately one pint of blood and a single car accident victim may require as many as 100 pints. To donate, bring a photo ID, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good general health. The blood drive is Thursday at the United Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall in Washington.
