The high school assistant principal, activities director, and other positions were hired by the Mid-Prairie School Board this week.
The board approved the hiring of Tyler Hotz as high school assistant principal and activities director for the next school year. Hotz is currently the principal and activities director at Columbus Community High School. Hotz will be replacing Steve Hollan who is retiring from the activities director position and filling the newly created position of assistant high school principal. The board also approved hiring Rachel Kerns as the home school assistance program director, replacing Jan Childress who is retiring this year. Kerns is currently an assistant director for the program, and Rose Schrock who is also an assistant director will be promoted to senior assistant director, with an increase of 27 contract days. Over 400 students will be in the home school assistance program next fall.
