A new record low average temperature has been set in Washington for the start of April.

According to the National Weather Service, the average temperature for the first 10 days of April in Washington is 46.7 degrees, but this year it has been more than 20 degrees below that at 26.4 degrees. The normal average maximum temperature is 58.9 degrees but this year it has been 37.1 degrees, a record low. Also, the average minimum temperature is a new record low at 15.7 degrees; the normal is 34.4 degrees.

So far this year, the overall average temperature has been 25.6 degrees, below the normal 29.9 degrees. Temperatures are expected to drop back down below average this weekend, listen to KCII for weather updates.
