The Washington demon boys’ soccer team lost 3-2 to the Fairfield Trojans Thursday at the Washington high school.

This game was a tale of two halves. The first half was all offense, as Zac Stout put Washington on the board in the seventh minute with a kick near midfield that just floated over the head of the Trojans goalie. Fairfield struck twice quickly after that to take a 2-1 lead with just under 30 minutes to play in the first half. In the 25th minute Anthony Torres tied the game on a free kick. Torres kicked the ball over the Fairfield wall and goalie into the net.

In the second half both defenses buckled down to keep the other team from getting many scoring chances. In the 74th minute the Trojans snuck one by Washington goalie Thomas Zimmer.

The Demons are now 1-1 on the season and play again tonight against the Highland Huskies at the Washington High School. The match starts at 4:30.
