Work is underway to drill a new well in the City of Ainsworth.

According to Ainsworth Water Treatment Plant Superintendent Chad McCleary, Gingerich Well and Pump Service began work on installing a new well April 30th after receiving official approval from the Department of Natural Resources. There is no exact date on when the well will be operational but McCleary hopes work will be completed in the next couple weeks. A new well was needed after an unexpected collapse of the town’s former well occurred earlier this spring. Cost of the new well has not yet been determined. A water conservation order remains in effect for Ainsworth residents.
