The Sigourney Savage softball team handed Keota a 15-3 loss in three innings in a battle of two KCII area teams last night.

Seven of the nine starters in last night’s game had an RBI for the Savages.  Madi Shauf led the way with three, and Hannah Lucas and Megan Stuhr each had two.  Kaylee Weber was the lone Savage batter without a hit, but she walked in both of her plate appearances and scored two runs.

The pitching was solid as well, with Jordan VanEe and Madelyn Hornback combining for three innings of one hit, zero earned run softball.  VanEe did not allow a hit in her start, but walked six batters in her inning and a third of work.  Hornback allowed the hit, but walked nobody.  The pair combined for three strikeouts.

They will finish up conference play this week, with a trip to Iowa Valleys on Monday and Belle Plaine coming to town on Wednesday.
