The Washington Demon baseball team kept up their winning ways last night, picking up a sweep on the road against Keokuk. After all seven innings of play, game one ended in a 10-0 Demon victory. Kole Hinrichsen was stellar on the mound, throwing a complete game shutout on five hits while striking out 11. Luke Turner and Landon Hinkley led the way for the Demons at the plate, each notching two hits and two RBI.
Game two was a fairly wide margin of defeat as well, with the Demons taking the victory 7-1. Cade Hennigan had another quality start for Washington, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out five. Kiowa Keith and Brady Knutson both had multi-RBI games with two apiece.
Their next action will be Wednesday night when they welcome the Hawks of Central Lee to town for a game, and they’ll continue their conference season on Thursday night in a home double-header against Mount Pleasant. We’ll have both of those contests on FM 106.1 KCII, with tomorrow’s action starting with the Washington HyVee pregame show at 6:30 and a 7:00 first pitch.
