The Iowa Mennonite School baseball and softball teams are on the diamond Tuesday in Kalona when they host area school Winfield-Mt. Union for a Southeast Iowa Superconference contest.
The IMS softball team comes into the game with an overall record of 1-14 after a loss to Wapello on Monday. IMS is hitting .256 as a team on the year, led by Avery Blauvelt at .405. In the circle, IMS has a team ERA of 7.69 and due to injury will be without leading pitcher Hannah Harris the rest of the season. The next leading pitcher for IMS is Leah Bontrager with a 4.50 ERA in five innings. Winfield-Mt. Union comes into tonight’s game with an overall mark of 9-6 on the season after falling to Highland Monday. On the season the Lady Wolves are hitting .263 as a team, led by Molly Miller with a .451 average. In the circle WMU has a team ERA of 1.99, led by Madie Anderson with a 9-5 record in 95 innings thrown with a 1.99 ERA. Last year these two teams met once with IMS taking a 2-1 win.
The Iowa Mennonite baseball team enters tonight hot, at 12-6 on the year, they have won six in a row. On Monday they beat Wapello on the road 4-3. This season IMS is hitting .273, led by Eli Ours with his .400 average. On the hill IMS has a team ERA of 3.18, led by Drew Blauvelt with a 3-0 record in 18 innings with a 0.78 ERA. Winfield-Mt. Union comes into the game with an overall record of 1-18 after dropping a game to Highland 6-5 on Monday night. On the season, the Wolves are hitting .208 as a team, led by Nick Crow with a .358 average. On the mound the Wolves have a team ERA of 10.77 led by Jacob Ford with a 1-3 record in 20 innings and 6.05 ERA. These two teams met a year ago with IMS taking a 15-0 win.
