The streak continues for the red hot Iowa Mennonite baseball team, who captured their sixth straight victory Monday with a 4-3 win at Wapello.
IMS put a pair of runs on the board in their first at bat. Wapello would take the lead with a three spot in the second and the game stayed that way until the fourth when IMS got two more to jump back up 4-3. That was enough offense for Trevor Leyden and Reggie Borntrager on the mound as Leyden recorded the win going five and a third innings giving up two hits, three runs and striking out five. Borntrager got the save, allowing three hits but no runs and striking out two. At the plate, IMS was led by Cole Ours and Leyden each two for four. Cole and Eli Ours, Leyden and Isaiah Swantz each had one RBI. With the win, IMS is now 12-6 on the year, they host Winfield-Mt. Union Tuesday.
