Drought conditions remain relatively unchanged from last week to this week.
At this time 2.3% of Iowa is in severe drought, 8.64% is in moderate drought, and 20.27% is abnormally dry. The majority of the drought conditions stretch across the southern third of the state. At this time Washington, Iowa and Johnson Counties are not experiencing drought conditions, while most of Louisa is abnormally dry as is the southwestern corner of Keokuk County. Jefferson and Henry Counties are half abnormally dry with the southwestern half in each county in moderate drought. At this time last year 45% of Iowa was abnormally dry and only 1.29% was in moderate drought.
