Cameron Edwards

A man assaulted a correctional officer at the Henry County Jail.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 2:15 a.m. on June 22nd, 25-year-old Cameron Edwards of Mount Pleasant was in the process of being booked in on other charges when he struck a correctional officer in the temple area of his head. Edwards was immediately restrained and brought under control. Edwards was then charged with interference with a corrections official causing bodily injury, an aggravated misdemeanor, as well as two counts of harassment in the second degree, a serious misdemeanor, for threats made toward a corrections officer and a Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy. Edwards is being held on a $4,000 cash-only bond at the Washington County Jail.
