After nearly three years without a single win, the Winfield Mt. Union football team got one last Friday night in huge fashion, beating Tri-County 72-0.  This week, they’ll look to continue that on the road against Montezuma.

A week after WMU got their first win of the season, Montezuma is looking for theirs.  Both the Wolves and the Braves are new to the eight-man game, but that doesn’t mean the programs aren’t familiar with each other.

“They were in our district when we played 11-man,” head coach Scott McCarty said.  “They’re usually a pretty tradition-rich program.  So we’ll have our hands full, but if we can keep practicing like we did [for week two], we’ll be able to put ourselves in a position to compete.”

Kickoff in Montezuma is set for 7:00.
