Friday nights season opener for Iowa Mennonite School was not the start to the season they were looking for.

IMS fell to the 10th ranked Hawks 75-30 at home on Friday. The hawks got off to a quick 10-0 lead. IMS responded with a quick 9-0 run, scored entirely by Suzana Yoder, to cut the deficit to one. Lynnville-Sully would respond with a 6-point run of their own to finish the first quarter leading IMS 16-9. From there, the Hawks would not look back out-scoring IMS 59-21 in the final three quarters. Suzana Yoder lead IMS scoring 26 of their 30 points, including 3 three-pointers and four steals on the night. IMS starts the year 0-1 and will travel to Keota to play the Eagles on Tuesday.
