The Warriors of WACO took to the road against the Warriors of Van Buren in a girls’ basketball match-up Tuesday night, with eighth-ranked Van Buren taking the win, 53-36.

WACO seniors put on a show in their final season opener. 29 of the 36 points on the night were scored out of the senior class, including Kristen Conley putting up 13 points and Clara Schmitz scoring 11.

Despite the loss, WACO was efficient in shooting the ball.  As a team, the Warriors shot 34 percent overall from the field, 50 percent from three-point land and 87.5 percent from the free throw line.

The Warriors’ next contest comes at home on Tuesday against Wapello.
