The Sigourney and Keota boys’ basketball teams will get a rivalry game right off the bat this season, as the two teams square off against each other in Sigourney on Tuesday night.

Keota finished last season at 15-7 with a loss in the second round of regional play.  They graduated a whopping nine seniors, but bring back their leading scorer in J.D. Stout, who averaged over 23 points per game.  They will already have had a game under their belt going into Tuesday’s game, as they face off against Lone Tree on Monday.

Sigourney, meanwhile, ended at 10-12 and lost in the first round of district play after winning a pre-first round game.  They’re on the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of seniors graduating, however, as they lost a grand total of zero people to graduation.  They did lose a couple of players to transfer though, including their leading scorer in Brady Powers.

The two teams will go at in on Tuesday night in Sigourney as the second half of a double-header.  The girls are set to start at 6:00, with the boys to follow.
