The Washington Demon girls’ basketball team routed Eddyville-Blakesburg in their season opener last Monday night by a 47-31 score. Now it’s on to Cedar Rapids, where they will take on the Warriors of Washington High.
The Demons have a few players looking to build off of impact performances a week ago. Isabel Bailey had a big game at point guard, scoring 12 points and stealing it five times. Olivia Pacha was a strong performer in the post, scoring eight, rebounding eight and notching five steals of her own.
CR Washington is coming off a narrow victory in a high-scoring affair, beating Davenport North 61-57. Four of the Warrior starters finished that game in double figures.
Tonight’s game, weather permitting, is set for 7:30.
