Alumni were invited to play knockout during halftime
Former Iowa Mennonite School students filled the bleachers of Hillcrest Union for Alumni Night.
During the basketball double header on Tuesday IMS rolled out the red carpet, by holding raffles, giving away prizes, including items at the concession stand and Hawkeye basketball tickets. Interim Principal Dwight Gingrich said they even had to open up additional seating to accommodate the large crowd. Gingrich added that the festivities played a huge role in the environment, “It was fun to see the place filled and just a great atmosphere. Our Director of Alumni Jeremy Ours does a nice job of working this and our entire office staff, they all worked really hard to prepare for tonight.” Along with the alumni raffle, IMS’ entrepreneurship class had a booth, selling jewelry they made in class. Both the boys and girls teams from IMS walked away with victories against Columbus. The girls won 37-16, and the boys won 70-33.
