The Washington girls’ basketball team took to the road to take on Oskaloosa last night, blowing out the Indians 54-32.
The Demons set the tone early on, allowing Osky to score just two points in the first quarter. The lead was 10 at halftime, and would only be extended from there, with the Demons taking the big win on the road.
It was a big day for Halle Leyden, scoring a career high 19 points off a 54 percent shooting night from the field, including going four of seven from downtown. Isabel Bailey had a solid night as well, putting up nine points and dishing out seven assists.
The win moves the Demon girls to 6-7 on the year. Their next action comes on Friday night when they welcome Fairfield to town as part of a Southeast Conference doubleheader. That one will be broadcast live on FM 106.1 starting with the Washington HyVee Pregame Show at 5:45. Tip of their game is set for 6:15 with the boys to follow.
