The Washington wrestling team will be one of four teams traveling to Lone Tree for a quadrangular tonight, as they will take on Pekin and KCII-Area foes Lone Tree and WACO.
The Demons come into tonight with six wrestlers sitting at three losses or less, including the unbeaten Tristin Westphal at 182, who will be going for his school-record 156th career win. Walker Ikerd has just one loss at 120 this year, Brandon Dickel has gone 7-2 in limited matches at 126 so far (including five straight wins), Logan Escher is sitting at 18-3 and coming off possibly the quickest pin in school history (seven seconds), the list goes on.
WACO and Lone Tree both have several open slots, but have had some successful wrestlers throughout the year. Bryce Thompson is a notable one for Lone Tree at 24-4 in the 106, and WACO’s Jonah Clark and Jalen Collins each come in at 29-6 in the 120 and 126 weight classes, respectively.
Tonight’s action will be live from Lone Tree on KCII with coverage starting at 5:30.
