Due to the possibility of inclimate weather, Iowa Mennonite has moved their Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader with Pekin to Thursday night in Kalona.
The IMS girls come into the game with an overall record of 7-7 after a 78-42 loss to Mediapolis on the road Tuesday. Suzanna Yoder led IMS in the loss posting 28 points. For the year, Yoder leads IMS and class 1A, scoring 26 points per game. She also has the team lead and is third in the Superconference with 59 assists. Yani Gutierrez leads IMS on the glass with 92 rebounds.
Pekin comes into the game with an overall record of 12-2. Last time out the Panthers beat Highland 50-39 behind 18 points from Haley Gambell. On the season the Panthers are led by Gambell at 13 points per game, eighth in the Superconference. She paces the Panthers with 99 rebounds, ninth in the SEISC. Zoey Wright is best on the team with 73 assists, second in the Superconference. These two teams met earlier this year in Packwood with the Panthers taking a 56-29 win.
The IMS boys come into the game with an overall record of 8-4 after a 58-46 loss at Mediapolis Tuesday. Eli Ours leads IMS in scoring for the year at 14 points per game, 10th in the Superconference. Caleb Gingerich holds the team lead and is second in the SEISC with 64 assists. Jeremy Niemeyer leads IMS on the glass with 80 rebounds, seventh in the Superconference.
Pekin comes into the game with an overall mark of 12-2. Last time out the Panthers topped Highland 76-53. For the year Pekin is led by Cameron Millikin at 14 points per game, ninth in the Superconference. Caleb Comstock has the team lead with 78 assists, eighth most in class 1A. Kennan Winn is best for the Panthers on the glass with 80 boards, seventh in the Superconference. These two teams met in early December with the Panthers taking a 56-46 win.
