The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team has found success this season due in part to their work on the glass.
Mid-Prairie stands at 8-6 on the year, the latest in the season they have been above the .500 mark since 2014. One of the biggest catalysts for Mid-Prairie’s inside game is senior Tom Butters. On the year Butters has pulled down 176 rebounds, more than anybody else in class 2A in Iowa. His total is fourth in the entire state regardless of class. To go along with his work on the boards, Butters also leads Mid-Prairie scoring 14 points per game, eighth most in the River Valley Conference to average a double double per game on the season. Butters and the Golden Hawks will next be in action Monday when they travel to Camanche for a makeup doubleheader against the Indians.
