North Cedar High School is the site for the 2019 River Valley Conference wrestling championship meet Saturday.
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks come into the meet after finishing the regular season with an overall mark of 8-15 following a 1-3 day at the Denver Duals last Saturday.
The favorite at Saturday’s event is the defending conference champion West Liberty Comets. West Liberty followed up their impressive 2018 season with an unbeaten run to the conference dual title. The Comets have two ranked wrestlers in their lineup with Will Esmoil No. 4 at 145lbs and Coy Ruess No. 8 at 152lbs according to thepredicament.com.
There are a total of 14 ranked wrestlers in today’s field. Action begins at 10a.m. and continues all day at North Cedar High School.
