The Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce has announced their 2019 Citizen of the Year.

Dolores Poulter Wilson was given the award for her work with the Midwest Old Threshers Foundation and her pledge to Iowa Wesleyan University. Wilson donated $500,000 to the university this fall when it was made public that the school was facing financial issues. Former Citizens of the Year recipients Al and Melinda Huisinga presented Wilson with the award at the chamber’s annual banquet Thursday evening. The banquet was also a farewell to ongoing Chamber President Robb Gardner, who “passed the gavel” to incoming President David George.
