Keota High School was able to crown a homecoming king and queen, despite having several homecoming activities cancelled due to weather. Homecoming was scheduled for the week of January 21st with theme days, a dance, and a set of basketball games. Those plans changed when all  four days of school were cancelled because of the weather. Principal Jim Heinrich announced they would postpone the theme days and festivities to the week of January 28th. Then those plans were halted when a polar vortex cancelled four days of that week.

Finally on Friday, February 1st, the students were able to return to class and Heinrich tried to fit in as much homecoming fun as he could. Friday they held their annual “Anything Goes Day” where each class competes with one another in various activities throughout the day. Then Austin Waterhouse and Frankie Johnson were crowned homecoming king and queen during the pep rally. Homecoming week finished off Friday evening with a girls-boys basketball double header versus Albia. The Eagle girls won  49 to 26, and the boys lost 91 to 70.
