ice-storm-warning

Freezing rain is expected in southeast Iowa throughout the day Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm will spread freezing rain and sleet across the area. The ice storm warning includes most of the KCII-listening area with Washington, Henry, Louisa, and Jefferson Counties. The warning is from noon Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.  Total ice and sleet accumulations of two-tenths to four-tenths of an inch are expected. The NWS advises that power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible and is strongly discouraged.

A second storm system may bring another round of accumulating ice to the area Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. Temperatures are expected to fall as the week progresses with a high in the teens on Friday. Listen to KCII for weather updates and road conditions.
