A contractor has been selected for a $1 million sewer project in Washington. At Tuesday’s Washington City Council meeting, a construction contract was awarded to Municipal Pipe Tool Co., LLC for $1,079,630.10 for the southeast sewer basin inflow and infiltration project. The work is funded partially by a $600,000 Community Development Block Grant. Work will include lining 19 manholes, internal sanitary sewer main line patching, and lining approximately 16,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer main.The contract includes two bid alternates for additional manhole lining. Even with the two bid alternates included, the overall contract is lower than the engineer’s base bid estimate by about $64,000. The substantial completion date is September 13, 2019.
