A truck slid off of Highway 92 and came to rest on its driver’s side after encountering icy conditions. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 6:30 p.m. a Chevrolet Colorado was eastbound on Highway 92 near Louisa/Washington County Line Road driven by Ayla Renee Meza of Columbus Junction. She tried to slow and the vehicle began skidding on the icy road, it then went into the north ditch, slid sideways and rolled onto its side. Meza was able to exit the vehicle and complained of a headache; she was taken by private vehicle to the hospital. A Washington County Sheriff’s deputy, Columbus Junction Fire Department, Louisa County Ambulance, Columbus Junction Police Department, and the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
Between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. there were six wrecks in Washington County Sunday.
