If you’re looking to add some extra love to your life this Valentine’s Day, PAWS and More Animal Shelter may have the answer. Director of PAWS Amber Talbot says people can volunteer to pet the animals, offer their homes to foster pets, or they can consider adopting a new friend. Talbot explains how volunteering and socializing with the animals is beneficial, “A wonderful way to show extra love, especially at this time of year, is to come and just snuggle our kitties. Giving them that extra affection during the day is so important for them. And along with our dogs, I know the weather hasn’t been ideal, but we’re still getting our dogs out and getting them exercise. And you know, even if it’s not safe for walking, we do have a nice fenced area that the dogs can run off-leash in if you’re brave enough to go out in the weather with them. Quite a few of our dogs love to play in the snow. And so, just coming out and visiting, and sharing that extra compassion is so important, giving them that enrichment just means so much to them.”

The shelter has over 60 cats available for adoption and about 18 dogs. Two dogs, Laverne and Shirley (pictured above), have been in the care of another shelter for over a year and recently transferred to PAWS are looking for their forever families.
