The Mid-Prairie girls basketball team saw their season draw to a close Wednesday night in Center Point as they fell to the No. 3 ranked Stormin’ Pointers 54-30 in the regional semifinal round of the class 3A playoffs.

In a game heard on KCII, CPU would lead wire to wire. Mid-Prairie got as close as 6-5 on a Caitlyn Riggan three midway through the first quarter, from then on CPU outscored the Hawks 13-0 to build a halftime lead of 27-9. The Pointers used a 16-6 run out of the half to put the game out of reach. Mid-Prairie was led by Maddie Nonnenmann with 11 points. The Golden Hawks say goodbye to seniors Kessa Jones and Shae Becker, wrapping up their season with a 12-10 overall record.
