The Washington girls’ basketball team put the smackdown on Oskaloosa this past Wednesday to earn their trip to the second round of regional play.  Now, their time has come, as they hit the road tonight to take on Marion.

The Demons enter tonight at 8-13 on the year after beating Osky 44-28 to advance.  It was a 12-point game for Isabel Bailey, who also tacked on seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.  Olivia Pacha had herself a night, scoring 10 points and bringing in 11 rebounds for her second career double-double.

Meanwhile, Marion has been riding high all season, finishing the regular season atop class 4A in the rankings from the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU).  The Indians come in with a record of 19-1 and are undefeated against teams in Class 4A, beating teams by an average of 36.2 points per game.

Tonight’s action will be broadcast live on KCII starting with the Washington HyVee Pregame Show at 6:30.  Tip-off is set for 7:00.
